This Christmas cake was for my friend Thomas.  He asked for a penguin Christmas cake, so I handmade loads of little penguins playing in the snow.  There are a couple sliding down the outside of the cake, one climbing back up again, one sunbathing, and one throwing snowballs!

This pretty cake was kept quite simple, just decorated with roses and sprinkled with icing sugar.  However, when I finished working on it and adding the ribbons, I thought it looked quite like a lady’s hat!  It’s a very versatile design – if you had different colour flowers, it could be for a birthday or any celebration really.
